The Batman receives appropriate working title as it enters production
The solo Batman film has received a grim working title, as it is about to enter production at Warner Bros. studios in the UK.
Via Comicbook.com, it was reported that The Batman standalone film has received a grouchy and ruthless working title. Listed under the official source of production information in the entertainment industry, Production Weekly, the latest issue mentions that the Matt Reeves picture will film under the name Vengeance.
For a solo film centering on the Dark Knight, Vengeance sounds fitting, as Batman allowed the criminals in his native hometown of Gotham to share his dread in fear. Let’s hope that it’s only just that and not Zack Snyder’s cold-blooded and unrelenting Batfleck iteration of the character, which is fairly unlikely given that previous appearances from the character featured a disheartened and battle-hardened vigilante.

Under its new codename, The Batman will be filming in the UK at Warner Bros. Studios, Leavesden located in Hertfordshire, England. This is the same film studio where the majority of the Harry Potter films, Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, Wonder Woman and Spider-Man: Far From Home have been filmed. Upcoming comic book films that have or will be shot at Leavesden Studios are Wonder Woman 1984 and Venom 2.
While plot details are seldom to be full of conjecture – with the most current rumor seeming to match – at least a few villains are set to appear. The focal point of the film may possibly focus on a series of unusual and cryptic murders in Gotham City that The Dark Knight investigates. Catwoman, the Riddler and Penguin are among the villains set to appear.
Centering on a young, but established, Caped Crusader fairly early on in his crime-fighting career, The Batman stars Robert Pattinson, Zoë Kravitz, Andy Serkis, Colin Farrell, Paul Dano, Jeffrey Wright, John Turturro, Jayme Lawson and Peter Sarsgaard. Matt Reeves is directing from a screenplay he has co-written with Mattson Tomlin. Reeves and Dylan Clark are producing for Pearl Street Films in association with 6th and Idaho Productions, with Warner Bros. is set to distribute. The Batman will soar and glide into theaters on June 25, 2021.
