How did Tom Holland beat out the rest of the Avengers in the FanSided 250?

2019 was a huge year for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Each film in the shared universe to hit the big screen made over a billion dollars at the box office. The debut of Captain Marvel was a hit, Avengers: Endgame gave fans a perfect sendoff for Tony Stark, and Spider-Man: Far From Home was even better than anyone could have expected.

Speaking of Spider-Man, Tom Holland managed to outrank all of his Avengers co-stars in this year’s FanSided 250 – a ranking of the most buzz-worthy fandoms across sports and entertainment – coming in at the number 48 slot. Even long-standing MCU stalwarts Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. fans had to bow down to Holland. Does this make sense? It certainly does.

First off, Tom Holland is just a joy to see. It always seems like he has a smile on his face. Something as simple as a smile goes a long way. It gives off the impression that he’s honored just to be where he is. Fans appreciate that because it shows a humble side of him.

When you’re in the spotlight so often, it can be easy to forget just how blessed you are, but it’s clear that Tom Holland gets it. He cherishes the position he is in and clearly appreciates all of his fans – especially after the rumors that he was a big reason why Marvel Studios kept the rights to Spider-Man. And that type of engagement is reciprocated by his passionate fanbase.

Most importantly, he is the best Spider-Man and Peter Parker we’ve had. The young actor has crushed all of his performances of the beloved wall-crawler thus far. Previous actors to play the character have often excelled in one area while struggling in another, but not Tom Holland.

He was a flawless representation of both the Wall-Crawler and Peter Parker. Sometimes it looked like he was straight out the comic book the way he played the awkward Peter Parker and then easily switched to the Amazing Spider-Man. What may have put him over the top was his part in Avengers: Endgame.

More from Spider-Man

When Spider-Man dusted away in Avengers: Infinity War, everyone was sad. Even though we knew he’d be back in a year, it didn’t matter. The young Peter Parker turned to dust in Tony Stark’s arms and was carried away by the wind (cue up Dust in the Wind), but when he returned in Avengers: Endgame, we got goosebumps.

We were all just so happy to see him. When Tony Stark hugged him, we all smiled. Furthermore, everyone laughed at the moment he shared with Captain Marvel. And we teared up when as Peter watched Tony Stark (his mentor and hero) die. Four memorable moments in a short amount of time. That’s how good he is. He can create moments and steal the show even without a lot of screen time.

This is just the things he’s done in the movies. People still talk about his performance Lip Sync Battle in 2018. Everything he does is fun to watch. He’s a young guy who just seems to enjoy every moment of his life. And if his placement on the FanSided 250 is any indication of the future, expect Tom Holland to be in the number one spot sooner than you think.
