The Flash: Keiynan Lonsdale will return as Wally West after Crisis
Keiynan Lonsdale is set to return as Wally West aka Kid Flash after Crisis on Infinite Earths ends.
Ever since Wally West (Keiynan Lonsdale) fully embraced his yellow and red patterned heroic persona, Kid Flash, it has been more and more difficult to creatively and logistically manage the number of Speedsters. Lonsdale famously departed The Flash to focus on his music career and relegated his role to just guest appearances. Before leaving the Arrowverse, his character also briefly joined the cast of Legends of Tomorrow.
Now, it has been confirmed by TV Insider that Wally will now return in the fourteenth episode of The Flash season 6, which is way after Crisis on Infinite Earths and the “Bloodwork” story arc. Not only that, but the current showrunner, Eric Wallace, has also hinted that Wally has changed somewhat since the last we have seen him. Wallace said about West’s return:
"“After working on his inner life in Tibet, Wally West aka Kid Flash, is back to help Team Flash against a familiar… but one with a very new face!”“As always, it’s a real treat having our Flash family member Keiynan Lonsdale back to play the youthful speedster, but what’s different this time [is that] Wally has grown, along with his speedster abilities, too.”"

First, let’s break things down and take the Richter scale down a peg. Those who kept an eye on this summer’s San Diego Comic-Con knew, and it was reported that more baddies will taunt Barry Allen and the rest of Team Flash – Godspeed being one of them – and Ramsey Russo/Bloodwork already had his turn.
According to what Wallace said, this “familiar threat… with a very new face” most likely is Reverse Flash, who up until this point, we have not quite seen just yet in the crossover. He set things in motion last season for Crisis to happen a lot sooner. That, of course, leaves one more villain, which is anyone’s guess. And when Wally comes to help, his new outlook is sure to shake things up. “[This] won’t be your same old Kid Flash making a reappearance,” Wallace added.
Hopefully, the writers have come up with a plausible explanation as to what happened to Wally during the events of Crisis, and it will be interesting to learn the catalyst that really pushed Wally to return to his family.
