[SPOILER] is confirmed to be Lando’s child in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker intended to introduce Lando’s secret child in the form of one of the film’s newest characters. Spoilers lie ahead.
Fans got their fair share of surprises and shocking moments from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. From Rey’s Palpatine heritage to Kylo Ren’s redemption, audiences were thrown for a loop more than once. There was, however, one plot point that didn’t make it into the finished film, and it involves none other than Lando Calrissian.
While it’s been widely speculated, it has officially been confirmed that Jannah is Lando’s daughter. Brandon Bird, who worked on the film’s visual dictionary, revealed that the book spoiled a deleted plot point from the movie. He alludes to the exact plot point when he says the resolution in the film makes a classic character seem creepy:
Bird is referencing Lando and Jannah’s conversation near the end of the movie during which he offers to help her locate her family. This may have been the only part of their connection to be used, but Heddle added that it will all be in the novelization:

Answering a fan question a few days later, Heddle also confirmed that the official novelization is indeed canon. All of this matches up with a plot leak that claimed Lando was related to a new character, presumably Jannah.
The visual dictionary details that Lando had a daughter who was abducted by the First Order when she was young. As we learned in The Rise of Skywalker, Jannah is a former Stormtrooper who is unaware of her lineage. Story elements like this are too specific not to be connected in some way.
Because this subplot is considered to be canon, one has to wonder if it will be brought back around in a future Star Wars project. It would be nice to see bot characters formally interact as father and daughter in another novel, film or TV series.
