Rumor: Disney Plus has just found its Ms. Marvel
It looks like Marvel may have found its latest superhero in Ms. Marvel, but just who is taking on the role of Kamala Khan?
Disney Plus has certainly changed the Marvel landscape – and that’s before any of its original superhero shows have hit our screens. The new streaming service is undoubtedly a must for fans of Disney, and moving forward, it will be developing a ton of new programming set within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
With fans already looking forward to the returns of their favorite MCU characters in upcoming Disney Plus shows WandaVision, The Falcon & The Winter Soldier and Loki, an announcement at the summer’s D23 Expo revealed that the service would be producing three shows based around new characters. Those shows would be Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight and She-Hulk.
While little is known about the upcoming shows (other than the characters they’re based on, of course), we may be about to get some updates in regard to who is playing Ms. Marvel‘s eponymous character. According to MCU Cosmic‘s Jeremy Conrad, Marvel has found their new hero and is in the final stages of casting the character.
Kamala Khan made her debut within the pages of Marvel Comics back in 2013, initially appearing in the ongoing Captain Marvel series (Issue 14) in the summer of that year before headlining her own solo series, the aptly titled Ms. Marvel, the following year – becoming Marvel’s first Muslim character to do so.

A major fan of the original Ms. Marvel Carol Danvers, Khan follows in the footsteps of her hero and assumes the identity after’s Carol transition into Captain Marvel – a character that made her MCU debut earlier this year in her self-titled solo film.
Fans will undoubtedly be eager to discover the identity of the actress taking on the role, but by the sounds of things, we won’t have to wait much longer to find out!
