11. Thor VS Hulk

Movie: Thor: Ragnarok (2017)

The last time I wrote about this scene, it was a fight everyone had been waiting for. Two years later and that hasn’t changed as it still holds up. This altercation has been brewing since the first Avengers movie. Fans of these two heroes in the comic book know a real fight between them was bound to happen.

Before the match, Thor was at a disadvantage. The Hulk had two weapons and all of his powers. Thor lost his hammer and was unaware that he could fully access his lightning. Top that with Thor still having a small shock disc on his neck and Thor trying not to really hurt his friend, this should have been Hulk’s win easily. It wasn’t. Had the Grandmaster not interfered, Thor would have won.

Why it ranks as one of the greatest fight scenes from this decade’s superhero movies

This was a hard-hitting fight between two powerful entities. The shock waves from each blow must have been massive. The battle may have been cut short due to the Grandmaster’s shenanigans, but it was still great. Thor showed that he was more than just his hammer.

At one point, Thor fought Hulk hand-to-hand and winning. Thor doesn’t have the Hulk’s seemingly unlimited strength. Thor’s advantages are his speed and experience. Hulk should be happy the match was stopped. Thor was on his way to beating him before Thanos could do it. It would be nice to see a rematch without any interference.
