Movie: Logan (2017)

Fans had wanted an R-rated Wolverine movie for almost twenty years. Logan gave us what we desired. Unfortunately, it was his final movie. The good news is that it was one of the best superhero movies of all time.

Logan’s last stand solidified that statement. He took on the Reavers with Laura and the rest of the young mutants trying to escape America. This would be the last time we’d see Logan in action. He died a hero protecting the next and possibly last generation of mutants.

Why it ranks as one of the greatest fight scenes from this decade’s superhero movies

Logan running into this fight knowing his healing factor wasn’t what it used to be was sad. We could feel that this was going to be his final battle. When he was fighting, it was brutal. Logan went out with his head held high and as the Wolverine. Then, there was his death.

In The Wolverine, Yukio tells Logan, “I saw you die, holding your own heart in your hand.” He did “die” in The Wolverine like this. However, people on the internet have a different theory. Logan died holding Laura’s hand. This could have been the prophecy Yukio mentioned and, personally, this makes more sense.

It wasn’t just Laura and Logan that made the action incredible, though. The other mutants were fighting for their lives and fought their battle as well. It was refreshing to see. They were scared kids, but they still fought. This should have been the movie to end the 20th Century Fox Era. Not Dark Phoenix.
