Gorr and Dario Agger are the perfect villains for Thor: Love and Thunder.

You may have heard that the fourth installment in the Thor franchise is called Thor: Love and Thunder. It’ll be director Taika Waititi’s second movie in the franchise. His work on Thor: Ragnarok, and the final episode of The Mandalorian should put fans at ease. He’s an incredible director who makes fun projects with a lot of depth. These are all reasons for everyone to be excited for Thor: Love and Thunder. And if that’s not enough, celebrated actor Christian Bale is reportedly in talks to join the project as well. If he ends up boarding the film, he’ll be a welcome addition. However, the question everyone wants to know is who he’ll play.

Everyone on Twitter immediately assumed that it’ll be Beta Ray Bill. A smart pick, as Beta Ray Bill is a popular character in Marvel Comics. He’s one of the few characters that could lift Thor’s hammer and actually beat the snot out of him with it as well. In the end, they become brothers in arms, Bill is now one of Thor’s most trusted friends. We also saw him briefly in Thor: Ragnarok as one of the champions immortalized on the side of the Grandmaster’s arena. As great as this would be, Christian Bale’s talents would be wasted on a heavily CGI-ed character. His talents would be better served as Gorr the God Butcher or Dario Agger.

Before you say it, yes. Gorr would be a CGI character. But what if he isn’t? What if Gorr isn’t an actual alien as he is in the comics? Gorr’s motivation comes from his hatred of the gods. He felt like they abandoned him and caused the death of his love. But in the context of the MCU, Thor could have inadvertently killed someone he loved. It’s a simple change, yet this may be too similar to Zemo’s story in Captain America: Civil War and Adrian Toomes’ in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Still, the similarity help, as it furthers the idea that things aren’t always great. Sometimes good people get hurt in the crossfire of a superpowered fight. And even if Gorr is an alien, he won’t be bulky the entire movie. But as good as Gor would be, Dario Agger and Roxxon are the way to go.

More from Marvel Cinematic Universe

Roxxon is a gigantic corporation that’s caused more pain and suffering than any supervillain not named Thanos. Rozzon only cares about money and power, and they don’t care who gets hurt while they’re pursuing it. The head of Roxxon is a man named Dario Agger. Agger has ties to the Nine Realms and is a former associate of Malekith the Accursed. He was also crucial to War of the Realms. Agger is the epitome of everything Roxxon is about. And he’s a monster, both figuratively and literally.

Agger has the ability to turn into a minotaur. Again, I’m aware that he would be a giant CGI monster. Agger gives Thor, Valkyrie, and Jane Foster a villain they could really beat on. That’s great, but that isn’t the reason Agger is the best pick for this. It’s the businessman aspect that would make him unforgettable.

Christian Bale’s performance as Patrick Bateman in American Psycho is iconic. If you’ve seen the movie, you know how good he’d be in the role. If you haven’t, you may want to check it out. Agger is a narcissistic psychopath, and we haven’t seen anything like him in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Sure, there have been some really ugly villains, but nothing this evil. Not even Loki in his prime comes close to him. He’s a deplorable human being turned mythical beast. The MCU needs more protagonists that fans can really hate, and Taika Waititi would have a field day making Agger as disgusting a being as he is in the comics. He may even make him more despicable.

If we’re being honest, it doesn’t matter who Taika Waititi casts for this movie. He could take a lump of untouched clay and mold it into a masterpiece. If Christian Bale signs on, this is a match made in heaven. We’ll just have to wait and see what other news will come out next from Thor: Love and Thunder and, whatever it is, it’ll be covered right here.
