Veteran actress Michelle Yeoh may be on Marvel Studios’ radar for Shang-Chi and the Legend of The Ten Rings.
The cast of Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings may be expanding, as Michelle Yeoh is in talks to join the film. Weekly Planet originally broke the news over the weekend, and ComicBook.com has now confirmed it.
Shang-Chi wouldn’t mark the veteran actress’ first time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with her first appearance having been in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. In that film, she played Aleta Ogord, an ally and former teammate of Yondu Udonta.
Yeoh would join a cast that includes Simu Liu as the lead character, along with Tony Leung and Awkwafina. Just Mercy‘s Destin Daniel Cretton is directing the film from a screenplay by Wonder Woman 1984 scribe David Callaham.

Not much is known about Shang-Chi at this point, except that the movie will see the Master of Kung Fu go up against the mysterious Mandarin. And in crafting the story, Cretton is hoping to give audiences a different kind of hero. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings hits theaters on February 12, 2021.
