Morbius: Jared Leto confirms that reshoots have begun
Now that more speculation has hit the fan on Morbius, the leading actor Jared Leto has confirmed reshoots of the film.
Days have passed since rumored “plot details” were leaked for Sony’s Morbius. Now, actor Jared Leto has confirmed via social media that reshoots are underway for the film.
It’s been a few weeks since the first trailer for Morbius dropped, and it provided plenty of chills and surprise Easter eggs, including the Spider-Man graffiti that appeared to address events from Spider-Man: Far From Home and the head-spinning cameo from Michael Keaton’s Adrian Toomes/The Vulture.
Leto has taken to Twitter to show off his research for the additional round of shooting. The comic he’s reading is Legion of Monsters!, which was originally published during the height of the slasher, psycho and horror-thriller film craze:

The Legion of Monsters, which predated the horror-themed ensemble featured in Marvel Premiere No. 28 in 1976, was created by Bill Mantlo, Frank Robbins and Steve Gan. A similar team of the same name (aside from Ghost Rider) included Frankenstein’s Monster, Dracula, Werewolf by Night, Manphibian, Man-Thing and Morbius. They appeared in Legion of Monsters Vol.1 No.1.
It’s very unlikely any version of these characters will appear in Morbius, as that comes with plenty of licensing red tape when it comes to rights to certain characters. However, this source of inspiration Leto is sinking his teeth into is sound.

Morbius stars Jared Leto, Adria Arjona, Matt Smith, Al Madridal, Jared Harris and Tyrese Gibson. Daniel Espinosa directs from a screenplay by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, Art Marcum and Matt Holloway. Avi Arad, Lucas Frost and Matt Tolmach are producing for Columbia Pictures in association with Marvel, while Sony Pictures will distribute. Morbius will hit theaters on July 31, 2020.
