MCU: Thor might be in Guardians of the Galaxy 3, after all

Though it once seemed like Thor wasn’t set to appear in Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3, the God of Thunder might be making an appearance in the MCU sequel after all.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is in flux at the moment as we all prepare for the major changes of Phase Four – changes that were brought about by Avengers: Endgame. However, one thing that will remain the same is the presence of Chris Hemsworth’s God of Thunder himself, Thor.

The character survived the events of Endgame and is set to headline his fourth solo film in Thor: Love and Thunder, but according to Chris Pratt (who portrays Peter Quill/Star-Lord in the Guardians franchise), there’s still a chance that he could appear in another future MCU film.

There was once a time when Thor was slated to appear in the third Guardians of the Galaxy movie, and according to Pratt, that still might be a possibility because they haven’t shot it yet. When asked about why Thor isn’t going to be in Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 by IGN at the premiere of Onwards, he commented:

"“How do you know that Thor’s not in Guardians 3? We haven’t shot it yet. He might be in Guardians 3… we don’t know. There’s no definitive ‘yes’ or ‘no’ on that.”"

A clever answer to nagging question, no doubt, but one that will undoubtedly excite fans.

Following the conclusion of Avengers: Endgame (beware of Endgame SPOILERS), Thor decreed that Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) was the Queen of New Asgard on Earth, leaving her in charge as he sought a new path in life; joining up with the Guardians in a team that was deemed the “Asgardians of the Galaxy”.
