Scott Derrickson has revealed the DC film he would direct
Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson has revealed which DC property he would like to bring to the big screen.
Last month, horror director, Scott Derrickson, left Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness due to creative differences. Sam Raimi was brought in to continue as director, while Michael Waldron, the head writer of Disney Plus’ Loki was hired to rewrite the script for the 2021 sequel. Derrickson hasn’t announced any future plans, but he has revealed the DC Film he would like to direct.
While answering questions on Twitter, Derrickson was asked if he would ever consider doing a Justice League Dark film, but he replied by saying that he would prefer to tackle a film starring John Constantine:
While it is not known if Derrickson still has a future with Marvel, a chance at DC under Warner Bros. Pictures may not be out of the question. Warner Bros. is no stranger to picking up talent from Marvel – whether it is in publishing or in the film industry.

Not so long ago, James Gunn, initially, was relieved of his directing duties on Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, but the filmmaker was soon tasked with writing and directing The Suicide Squad for Warner Bros. and DC Films.
These days, Constantine has more love on the small screen as part of the Arrowverse than as the star of a major motion picture. The last film Constantine appeared in was Francis Lawrence’s 2005 flick, which starred Keanu Reeves in the titular role.
A Justice League Dark film has been in development hell since 2014, with Guillermo del Toro hovering over the project. And more recently, it was reported that Bad Robot and WarnerMedia have joined forces to bring the JLD from out of the shadows to be adapted for film and TV projects. Still, there’s always a chance Warner Bros. can bring Derrickson on board for Justice League Dark-related feature that puts the spotlight on the English warlock at the forefront.
