Mark Ruffalo pitches Professor Hulk movie to the world (and Kevin Feige)
Since we first saw him last summer, we can’t get enough of Professor Hulk, and neither can Mark Ruffalo, who actually wants a whole movie about him.
During Avengers: Endgame, we were introduced to Professor Hulk, the amalgamation of Bruce Banner and the Hulk. Marvel failed to provide us a visual for the character’s origins but, as it was explained in the film, Professor Hulk is the end result of the two polar opposite personalities essentially deciding to co-exist for once.
He has the Hulk’s strength and appearance (minus the impulsive anger issues) while maintaining Banner’s intelligence (minus the painful awkwardness). While many of us would have liked to actually see exactly how the two came to co-exist, many fans didn’t need the visual to fall in love with the Professor, especially the character’s number one fan: Mark Ruffalo.
Per ComicBook.com, Ruffalo let his love for the character be known at C2E2 in Chicago when the moderator of the panel, Clare Kramer (yes, Glory from Buffy the Vampire Slayer) asked Ruffalo if there were any discussions behind the scenes regarding whether or not Marvel should show the Hulk becoming Professor Hulk.

Ruffalo admitted that he absolutely wants to see and be a part of a film where the Hulk and Bruce Banner have a showdown for control until Professor Hulk ultimately manifests as the conclusion of their climax. After he pitched his ideas to the fans, he added, “Are you listening, Kevin Feige?”
Perhaps most interesting is that Ruffalo added he wants one more addition to this proposed Professor Hulk movie: “Maybe Wolverine.”
Let’s not forget that a few years ago, Marvel Studios were able to retain the cinematic rights to the X-Men universe and all of the characters within it. This obviously includes Wolverine, which opens the door for an MCU debut for the fetching Canadian bruiser, albeit one without Hugh Jackman as he’s since retired from the role.
It remains unclear whether or not Marvel has specific plans yet for how to integrate Wolverine and the X-Men into their Cinematic Universe, but doing so via a Hulk movie certainly isn’t a bad idea. We hope Kevin Feige is listening.
