5. Betty, Archie and Veronica are arrested

In spite of the fact that we’d seen it before, it still came as a shock to see Betty Cooper, Veronica Lodge and Archie Andrews get carted off in handcuffs after being arrested in their school by Jughead’s father, Sheriff FP Jones.

Having been accused of murdering Jughead by Donna – who turned on the waterworks for FP and told a lie about how it was Betty who killed her boyfriend – the three of them were publicly escorted from Riverdale High and questioned by the police. And just like that, everything got that much more real for the Riverdale Three.

4. Alice doesn’t believe Betty

Ouch! What’s it going to take for Alice Cooper to have a little faith in her daughter? Like, seriously? She was right about Jason Blossom, right about the Black Hood and right about Edgar Evernever? But sure that makes her a killer?

What are we talking about, you ask? Why Alice requested some time alone with her daughter at the sheriff’s station just to declare that she knows Betty killed Jughead. Um with what evidence, Alice?

Alice was willing to forgive Betty for doing the unspeakable even though she didn’t do it. Is that supposed to be offensive or adorable? Alice, as always, is an enigma.
