Rumor: Fin Fang Foom to appear in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings

Rumor has it that a major character linked to the Mandarin could appear in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

Another big rumor coming from the forthcoming martial-arts inspired film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings Full Circle Cinema has revealed that – according to insider, Daniel Richtman – Fin Fang Foom could make his first appearance within the MCU in that very film.

Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, Fin Fang Foom is a dragon creature of alien origin from the planet Kakaranathara (otherwise known as Maklu IV), who somehow made its way to China on Earth during an ancient period then he was placed in a tomb. Fin Fang Foom made his first appearance in Strange Tales No.89 in 1961.

The shape-shifting alien creature that would greatly impact the Mandarin and his sinister career as a would-be conqueror due to Foom’s extraterrestrial origins, Foom would attempt to integrate in human society before he was rendered catatonic and planned world domination over Earth as he resided in ancient China and conspired with other members of his race – the Makluans. That is until Foom was trapped in a tomb and awakened years later by a teenage bystander named Chan Liuchow.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, penned by David Callaham and stars Simu Liu in the titular role. Tony Leung is set to play the Mandarin.

The Ten Rings organization – which has been present in the MCU since Phase 1 – and its real leader was foreshadowed in MCU short All Hail the King. The Mandarin will appear in the film (presumably as Shang-Chi’s father) as opposed to Fu Manchu, which Marvel Studios do not possess the rights to.

With Fin Fang Foom potentially being involved, fans will undoubtedly wonder if his vessel and the rings could appear in the film also.
