Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively donate $1 million to food banks
Deadpool’s Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively have donated $1 million to food bank organizations Feeding America and Food Banks Canada.
As reported by People Magazine, Ryan Reynolds and his wife Blake Lively are helping out those affected by the outbreak of the novel coronavirus.
Reynolds shared a post on Twitter and Instagram that announced the pair of actors will donate $1 million to different organizations that represent food banks in the United States of America and Canada – Feeding America and Food Banks Canada – amid the COVID-19 outbreak.
Signs of COVID-19 were first identified in late 2019 in Wuhan, China and it has since affected many others countries.

It’s wonderful to see public figures like Reynolds and Lively doing what they can to help out people in their time of need. They, however, weren’t the only public figures who made their contributions towards charity work. After Italy was placed on lockdown on March 10, Donatella Versace and her daughter – Allegra Versace Beck – donated €200,000 to Milan’s San Raffaele hospital. Other celebrities like Gal Gadot, Ben Affleck, Riverdale‘s Mark Consuelos and wife Kelly Ripa, Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber have made their own contributions.
Reynolds is a veteran of acting, but he’s best known to comic book fans for his incredible performance as the titular superhero (or should that be “antihero”) in Deadpool and Deadpool 2 (as well as in X-Men Origins: Wolverine). He also played the titular role in 2011’s Green Lantern alongside Lively.
Humorous as ever, his Instagram post featured a playful conclusion in which he wrote a light-hearted joke about Hugh Jackman, posting a fake hotline to call the Aussie actor.
