Superman and Lois character descriptions tease arrival of major DC character
While The CW series Superman and Lois has been ordered straight to series, details of some character descriptions have been unveiled.
Months back, it was revealed that The CW had a Supergirl spin-off series in development that would focus solely on Tyler Hoechlin’s Man of Steel and Elizabeth ‘Bitsie’ Tulloch’s Lois Lane. It was then later revealed that it had been ordered straight to series before a pilot episode was even filmed.
While Primetimer had previously revealed some characters that would be involved in Superman and Lois, The Illuminerdi has now unveiled specific details for some of those characters that will be featured. A number of characters are as follows:

- Sally Bunyan
- Kyle Bunyan
- Sarah Bunyan
- Sophie Bunyan
Recurring Characters / Potential Foes
- General Sam Lane
- Sebastian Saint
- Ryan Simmons
- The Stranger
More Than Meets The Eye?
While “Sally Bunyan” is one of the names listed, The Illuminerdi suspects that this character may actually be Lana Lang (a character that Primetimer previously revealed would be involved and mentioned that her husband would be called Kyle.) The casting call is looking to have a “diverse” actress between 35-39 years of age.
Her daughters, “Sarah” who is 16-years-old and “Sophie” who is eight, Sally is married to Kyle Bunyan and the producers are also in search of someone aged 35 to 39 to play the husband’s role.
According to The Illuminerdi, The Bunyan Family have been described as:
"“Sally’s life takes a turn when she reconnects with her high school boyfriend, which in turn is another straining factor in her marriage to Kyle.”“[Kyle is] a fire station chief who has basically become a hero in his own right to the town [an alcoholic.] Kyle has problematic attitude issues that affect those around them.”"
It sounds like the two daughters might also put a strain on the family dynamic as Sarah is believed to keep “dark secrets” while Sophie “tends to embarrass her family.”
On top of that, Superman & Lois is believed to be recasting the part of General Samuel “Sam” Lane, the father of Lois and Lucy Lane. Glenn Morshower played the General in the first season of Supergirl., but they’re now looking for someone else to play this – a series regular – role.

They’re also reportedly casting a villain by the name of Sebastien Saint – whom The Illuminerdi believes could be a recast of Supergirl‘s Morgan Edge – and a mysterious villain named The Stranger. And on to top it all off, they’re also looking for an actor to portray a character by the name of Ryan Simmons who seeks out those responsible for destroying his life.
Superman & Lois will see Tyler Hoechlin and Bitisie Tulloch reprise their roles as the respective power couple from DC Comics. Todd Helbing of The Flash fame will be writing the series and is set to be the executive producer alongside Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and Geoff Johns. It is unknown when production is expected to begin, but the series is likely to drop as part of 2021-22 television seasons.
