10 comics series to binge read while social distancing
By Scott Brown
10. Sunstone
So, I guess this list is going to start off with the most mature entry and that is Stjepan Sejic’s Sunstone. Well, I say mature but, according to Sejic himself, Sunstone is “a mature story about immature people,” and it very much is that. This is quite a sexually explicit series as it revolves around the BDSM subculture, but honestly, that falls to the background quite quickly as you immediately getting invested in the two main characters, Lisa (she is also the narrator) and Ally.
While it not may seem like it at first, this is a series that will quickly hook you into its world and its characters for all the right reasons. Lisa and Ally have a fascinating and wonderful relationship filled with joy, heartbreak, and love. They will make you laugh, make your heart hurt, and make you probably cry by the end. Their story is simple, and often a bit too cyclical as the story progresses, but its an engrossing one all because Lisa and Ally are wonderful characters. Plus, the supporting cast is pretty great as well.
Really though, there’s no excuse to not read the series (unless you’re under the age of 18) as Sejic put the entire series released so far up for free through his Twitter account. So, here’s your chance to read an excellent comic without even having to spend a penny.
