8. Titans

Where to stream: DC Universe (U.S.), Netflix (internationally)

The DC Universe-exclusive series follows DC Comics’ iconic group of young heroes as they overcome demons (both literally and figuratively) so that they can battle abominable evils like Trigon and Deathstroke.

It’s darker than you might think, as Dick Grayson’s attempts to leave Robin behind take him down some unexpected routes, but that simply allows heroes like Starfire, Wonder Girl, Beast Boy, Superboy and Jason Todd/Robin 2 to infuse it with the vibrant and fun approach it needs.

A slow burn that carefully unwraps a much larger conspiracy involving some of DC Comics’ greatest characters, Titans will keep you hooked the whole way throughout its two-season run while the rest of the world eagerly awaits its third.

7. Marvel’s Runaways

Where to stream: Disney Plus, Hulu

When a bunch of super-powered teenagers from different backgrounds learn of their parents’ crooked organization, The Pride, in which they use their super powers to commit some unspeakable and corrupt deeds, they break free from their parents’ grip and unite to take them down.

An exclusive to Hulu, Runaways is a refreshingly youthful alternative to the majority of content in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and its Netflix shows, offering up something that allows it to blur the genre lines.

Though once exclusive to Hulu, all three seasons are now on Disney +.
