2. The Flash

Where to stream: Netflix, CWTV

Barry Allen’s quest to discover who – or what – killed his mother and robbed him of his childhood becomes that much more possible when he becomes the impossible. A crime scene investigator with a good heart and slow legs, he’s eventually struck by lightning and given super-speed. Seeing it as a gift, he becomes The Flash and takes to the streets of Central City to stop the evil metahumans and ultimately solve his mother’s murder.

Unquestionably the most popular superhero show on TV today, The Flash may have been the second Arrowverse show, but it took it to greater heights than anyone thought possible.

With its light-hearted tone, it’s the perfect show to lose yourself in and it’s damn near impossible not to smile at every single family-orientated moment across all six seasons (and there are a lot of them).

Easily the best of the bunch, it’s everything a superhero show should be (and so much more), and you can find the first five seasons on Netflix and the latest five episodes of Season 6 on CWTV.

1. Supergirl

Where to stream: Netflix, CWTV

When the long-lost cousin of Superman, Kara Zor-El, crash lands on Earth, she grows up to become a lovable secretary for powerful media mogul Cat Grant. However, after years of hiding, she finally decides to take to the skies, becoming National City’s hero Supergirl. And over the course of the show’s five seasons, she has battled threats such as vengeful Kryptonian relatives, Daxamite invaders, the apocalyptic warrior Reign, Agent Liberty, Leviathan and even Lex Luthor.

The House of El symbolizes hope, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise to learn that you won’t find a more uplifting, joyous and downright lovable superhero show on TV than Supergirl. Like The Flash, it’s everything you could want from a traditional superhero show, but it just manages to be that little bit more heroic.

You’ll find the first four seasons of Supergirl on Netflix and the five most recent Season 5 episodes on CWTV.
