The Flash: 5 actresses who could potentially replace Kiersey Clemons as Iris West

Recent rumors suggest Kiersey Clemons may no longer be portraying Iris West in The Flash movie. If these turn out to be true, who could be the one to replace her? Here are some ideas.

Being quarantined hasn’t stopped rumors from circulating in regards to the DCEU’s The Flash movie. According to those rumors, actress Kiersey Clemons may no longer be portraying Iris West. For those of us following The Flash, we understand that the film isn’t immune to rumors about comings and goings.

A few weeks ago, rumors surfaced about the possibility of Ezra Miller being replaced. And Clemons departure has lingered over the DCEU for some time, despite the fact she’s yet to appear on the big screen in the role. Still, the rumors are disheartening, considering the uniqueness the Dope actress planned to bring to Iris.

There was an awesome deleted scene from Justice League, which saw her being saved by Barry after being thrown from a car. Perhaps another reason to release the Snyder cut? If not, that scene could be the only time we’d see Clemons as Iris. It would have been fun to see her in Andy Muschietti’s Flash. With that said, the recasting of Iris would be seamless since she never actually appeared on screen.

Since The Flash has gone through a ton of rewrites and directors, we don’t have much of an idea on who this version of Iris West is. As the reported casting call from The Illuminerdi points out, this potentially new Iris is described as a 20-something wide-eyed, charming reporter for the Central Citizen.

If Clemons does leave, there are a few actresses who’d make a great Iris West. Don’t expect to see many redheads since Iris is traditionally a brunette in the comics (except for Flashpoint of course). And the women previously in the running for Iris weren’t brunette or a redhead.

Of course, Candice Patton will be a popular choice, but as she does such a fantastic job portraying Iris West-Allen on The CW’s The Flash TV series (and we couldn’t imagine the show without her), she won’t appear on this list.
