The Flash: 5 actresses who could potentially replace Kiersey Clemons as Iris West
1. Alexandra Shipp
Borrowing from other comic book movies isn’t unheard of, and this writer certainly isn’t afraid to double-dip. Comic book movies make up a huge genre, so some actors and actresses could be perfect for more than one role. In this case, it’s Alexandra Shipp who played the younger Storm in Fox’s X-Men movies.
Unlike her adult counterpart (Halle Berry), Shipp’s character didn’t get the love she deserved. However, if Warner Bros. opts for an actress with some comic book movie experience to play Iris West – one that can benefit from and be beneficial to it – Shipp would be a great choice.
Shipp has proven that she’s a talented actress, making her presence felt on both the small screen and the big screen throughout her young career. Aside from Storm, she flexed her acting muscles in the slasher-comedy Tragedy Girls. The 28-year old actress played a cheerleader lacking in social status who decides to get her hands a little bloody for some fame.
She played the prominent role of Sasha in Shaft and also starred in the critically-acclaimed coming-of-age drama, Love, Simon as one of the protagonist’s best friends Abby Suso.
Shipp’s resume continues to grow, and she’s still considered a rising star. From hero to layered cheerleader and everything in between, there isn’t a role Shipp can’t play. So, why not make her Iris West?
