Colin Farrell reveals that he has a “certain amount” of scenes as The Penguin in Matt Reeves’ The Batman.

Production on Matt Reeves’ The Batman is still on hold due to what has been happening in the world. It was in the midst of filming whenever most of the film and TV productions all over the world were shut down due to the pandemic.

Undoubtedly one of the most anticipated movies of next year, Robert Pattinson and Zoë Kravitz will play Bruce Wayne/Batman and Selina Kyle/Catwoman respectively. However, they’re not the only huge names attached to the project as Colin Farrell will play The Penguin.

The Irish actor spoke to GMA News Online, revealing that he can’t “wait to get back” to filming the movie and that he has a “certain amount” of scenes as Oswald Cobblepot. Farrell said:

"“I haven’t got that much to do… I am not all over it by any means, but there are a couple of tasty scenes… I totally feel like it is something that I’ve not had the opportunity to explore before. It feels original and fun.”"

The Golden Globe Award winner also revealed that he was fond of Tim Burton’s Batman, the classic ’60s Adam West series and Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy, all of which fueled his excitement to be part of the Matt Reeves film.

"“Just to be part of, again that folklore, that mythology, is really cool…”"

Farrell is the latest actor to portray the iconic role after Burgess Meredith played the villain in the ’66 series and its film spin-off, Danny DeVito brought him to life in Burton’s Batman Returns and Robin Lord Taylor gave us different type of Oswald in Fox’s prequel series Gotham.
