Titans star Curran Walters recently shared his thoughts on a potential spin-off centering on Jason Todd’s other incarnation: The Red Hood.

With the rise of HBO Max and the long-standing rumors that DC Universe‘s days are numbered, there have been a lot of questions surrounding the DC streaming service’s future. However, a recent report suggested that it will be sticking around for a while and that there may actually be a spin-off of its premiere show, Titans, currently in development.

Titans has always been a favorite in terms of shows likely to get spin-offs because there are so many great characters who could benefit from one. And one of those potential spin-offs that has remained a fan-favorite possibility is one that would focus on Jason Todd’s Red Hood.

In a recent interview with Comicbook.com, Titans‘ Curran Walters was asked if he’d like to see his character, Jason Todd/Robin II take center stage in a Red Hood spin-off and he certainly sounded enthusiastic.

"“Yeah, I mean, that would be pretty cool.“I mean, it all depends on what the team thinks and where the Titans writers decide to go so. It’d be cool if we even got to the storyline on Titans someday. We’ll definitely see.”"

As many long-time comic fans know, Todd as Robin II, initially wasn’t all that well-received by readers when Jim Starlin took over and revamped his origin in Batman No.408 and No.409. And in a controversial storyline in “A Death in the Family”, he was killed by The Joker (after fan input by way of a telephone poll system).

He eventually returned and became the fan-favorite Red Hood following his resurrection after being bathed in the Lazarus Pit in Batman: Under the Hood by Judd Winick and Doug Mahnke.

Though Walters acknowledged that he wasn’t much of a comic book fan before taking on the role, he revealed that he researched a great deal for it. He also commented on what he would like to see on Titans:

"“Man, I think obviously, one of the most iconic things, it would be pretty cool to like have the Batmobile stealing of the tires… Obviously, the whole Joker thing would be a dream.“But, yeah, we’ll see. I’m so thrilled to get that first script of the season and see what happens.”"

Walters was a recurring star on the show’s first season and was upgraded to series regular status for season 2 of the show.
