Harley and the Justice League take on Poison Ivy, Clayface, and King Shark in the latest episode of Harley Quinn season 2.

Previously, on Harley Quinn season 2, Harley and the Joker went on a journey to find the Queen of Fables’ book. With it, they’d free the Justice League and take down Dr. Psycho and his army of parademons.

During all of the shenanigans, however, Joker came to realize that he was in love with Beth (the woman he was with while he wasn’t himself). In the end, the Justice League came back and Harley was ready to confront Poison Ivy and tell her how she felt.

But as Harley was about to tell her, Ivy attempts to kill Harley because she’s under Dr. Psycho’s control. Let’s see what’s going to happen next in “Lovers’ Quarrel”.

Harley vs Poison Ivy

Harley Quinn picks up right where we left off – with Poison Ivy mind-controlled and trying to kill Harley. As expected, Harley is completely outmatched. However, she has no clue what’s going on and won’t attack the woman she loves. Thankfully, she’s saved by Kite Man (Hell yeah) before Ivy could get a killing stroke. Kite Man then informs her that his fiancé is being mind-controlled by Dr. Pyscho.

This went exactly how you’d expect. Harley flipping away from Ivy as her best-friend-turned-lover used her incredible control of plants to take her down. While this was the obvious thing to do, it was still entertaining. The best part of it may have been The Joker’s involvement. Him longingly looking at Harley and Ivy fighting and saying that was the basis of their (Harley and Joker’s) relationship then immediately asking Beth what she wanted to eat was hilarious. It was also very Joker.

Justice League to the rescue…sort of.

Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman head into Gotham City to destroy the remaining parademons. As expected, the Justice League trinity make short work of Darkseid’s minions.

Then, they had to go up against a mind-controlled Poison Ivy, Clayface, and King Shark. Batman suggests it would be an easy fight because King Shark doesn’t fight and Clayface is a joke. Just as he says that, however, King Shark rushes them and Clayface grows taller than a house. Yep, not so easy, Dark Knight.

With all three Justice Leaguers being out-of-commission for so long, it’s expected for them to be rusty. Also, their opponents aren’t pushovers… especially not Ivy. After all, she has the potential to be the strongest meta-human on the planet.

Beyond the fighting, Superman remains funny – his overly boy scout ways always are. Wonder Woman assuming he spoke every alien language was great especially when we found out he does understand it.

True love’s kiss

Here it is. The moment we’ve been waiting for. It was time for Kite Man to save the day. All he has to do was kiss Poison Ivy and prove that he is the one for her. He kisses her to break the spell, and to no one’s surprise, it doesn’t work. Now, it’s up to Harley Quinn to do the same.

With Darkseid and Dr. Psycho watching, Ivy is ordered to kill Harley. But, (as we all expected) Harley kisses her and it works, breaking the spell. And after that, it was time to kick some evil booty. By that, it means Ivy defeats Dr. Psycho with ease.

Let’s be honest, we all saw this coming. We knew Harley was going to free Ivy with a kiss and Dr. Psycho was going to lose. The only shocking thing is that Darkseid didn’t kill Psycho or take him back to Apokolips and that he swore revenge. Well, that and Psycho putting the Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy sex scene above Gotham for everyone to see.

A. This was a great episode. It had all of the laughs, action, and subtle jokes that we’ve come to love from Harley Quinn. The only negative is that you see everything coming. Nonetheless, it was still done in a creative way. That made the parts you knew you’d see entertaining. Another fantastic job.. Harley Quinn. S2E12. Lovers' Quarrel

Quotes about Quinn

Will we see King Shark’s brother in the future? Well, minus the leg King Shark ate.

Clayface even grunted in his speech pattern. Nice touch.

Seriously, Darkseid is great. His, “And who is Orange Julius” line is amazing.

Even money says the next episode people are selling Harley and Ivy’s sex tape.

Well, it looks like we have a future villain. Darkseid swore an oath!

You can’t help but feel bad for Kite Man. He’s actually a good person.
