Best: Clint Barton

It’s ironic when we think about Clint Barton being one of the best fathers in the MCU. Early into the MCU, Hawkeye had complaints from fans for hardly having a personality or even a storyline outside slinging arrows. But as soon as we delved deeper into his family life as a father, he became one of the most beloved characters among the cast.

Whether he was working hard at SHIELD or saving the world from a catastrophic event, Clint Barton always had his family in the back of his mind. He took considerable measures to protect his wife and kids and keep them out of harm’s way – well away from all the chaos. On top of that, he’s just a fun, happy go lucky family man. You know, for an assassin.

Worst: Odin

Odin is a guy who catches a lot of flak for how he went about his fatherly duties and it’s easy to understand why. Odin made it painfully clear to both of his sons – especially his adopted one, who he was especially cold to – that he was far more concerned with being a king than being a father. Odin being so harsh to Loki and often playing favorites towards Thor is probably what kickstarted Loki’s hunger for world domination.

Honestly, if he had just hugged Loki once in a while and not treated the black-haired stepchild like, well, a black-haired step child, maybe he would not have grown up trying to destroy/rule over the universe.
