Will Poison Ivy get married or will Harley ruin things? Here’s all that went down in the Harley Quinn season 2 finale.

Previously on Harley Quinn season 2, Harley kissed Poison Ivy and broke Dr. Psycho’s mind control. Then, they defeated Dr. Psycho and Riddler with ease in front of Darkseid. Darkseid then left swearing vengeance on Earth (thanks a lot).

Despite being beaten, Dr. Psycho wasn’t going to lose without getting one more shot in. Psycho used his powers to show all of Gotham the night of passion Harley and Poison Ivy had in Themyscira. They couldn’t hide it any longer. What’s worse is that Kite Man (Hell yeah!) was with Harley and Ivy as he watched. But what happens next on the DC Universe show? Here’s everything that went down in the season finale “Something Green”.

A shunned commissioner

You’d assume that this episode would start with the events of the previous episode. Not at all. It starts with Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and some random heroes getting keys to Gotham City. Commissioner Gordon assumed he’d get one too, considering he never left Gotham and helped bring order back – you’d think so as well. Nope. The mayor gave the last key to himself.

More from DC Universe

At Arkham Asylum, Two-Face tells Commissioner Gordon that he’s not shocked he didn’t get a key. He tells Gordon that the only way to get any real recognition is to become the mayor of Gotham City. Two-Face hands Gordon the guest list to Ivy’s wedding and gives Gordon the idea to capture all the villains while Ivy is getting married.

We can all guess that there’s no way this doesn’t go down without some shenanigans. Gordon never does anything without bumbling in some way. Now, with a bunch of villains, he’s going to attempt to do the impossible. And without the help of any superheroes. Yep, this is going to get ugly.

The venue of his dreams

Poison Ivy and Kite Man are flying in the air. Kite Man asks Ivy why she cheated on him and she tells him that it was a mistake that will never happen again. To show that she still wants to get married, Ivy takes him to the venue that Kite Man always wanted. Kite Man asked how she made this happen and we see that Ivy had Frank the Plant eat Condiment King and his fiancé in order to get the venue. However, she told Kite Man that Condiment King left the city and “totally” wasn’t dead. Ivy says that if he still wants to marry her, then she is still with it.

This was a nice gesture. In spite of everything that’s happened, Ivy really does love Kite Man. The problem is she’s in love with Harley Quinn (who’s sulking in Arkham Asylum). It makes you wonder if Ivy is still hiding her feelings for Harley and just going through the motions. The funny thing is both of these are true. We’ve seen her go to great lengths to be with Kite Man. Yet, we’ve seen Ivy admit that she loves Harley.

Red Wedding

This was it. The wedding we’ve waited for since the beginning of the season. Poison Ivy and Kite Man were at the altar and ready to commit to each other. Too bad Commissioner Gordon and the rest of the Gotham City Police Department had other plans. Gordon finally created a plan that worked (yes, it’s shocking). Just as him and the rest of the GCPD were about to arrest the most powerful villains in Gotham, Harley Quinn shows up and saves the day in spectacular fashion.

This wasn’t just a fight scene with tons of blood, this was a tribute to Harley Quinn’s love for Ivy. No matter how much people didn’t want her around, Harley kept on fighting. If not for Harley, her friends (and enemies) would have been locked away in Arkham Asylum. Granted, they all would have escaped anyway, but it’s the thought that counts.

A+. There’s no way this season could have ended any better. The finale gave us everything that we could have ever wanted and more. It paid off on everything that was promised throughout the series and continued to give hope for future Harley Quinn seasons. A fantastic emotional ending, tons of action, and the jokes we’ve come to love. Without spoiling anything, it’s almost impossible to finish “Something Green” without being completely satisfied. It’s beyond perfection.. Harley Quinn. S2E13. Something Green
