Harley Quinn: Why the show deserves a third season
By Mark Lynch
The Villains!
Harley Quinn made a lot of enemies this season. Some of them she could handle: Jim Gordon and the Gotham City Police Department, Bane (kind of), and Two Face to name a few. Heck, we don’t know if Harley and Joker will fight each other again. And Dr. Psycho will want revenge as well. However, there’s also one really big-time villain that she’ll have to face at some point: The Lord of Apokolips, Darkseid.
Darkseid threatened to return to Earth and, quote, “terreform your planet into a scrapyard.” This could happen anywhere between the next season and the series finale. Ivy’s comments about how ominous that warning was highlighted that the writers clearly want to make this happen at some point. Sounds like tons of fun and destruction is coming.
Then there’s Kite Man (Hell yeah). He didn’t exactly leave happy after his third attempt at a wedding was ruined. From what we’ve seen, Kite Man isn’t a violent person. It’s doubtful he can even throw a proper punch. That being said, having your heart torn to pieces can change anyone. He wasn’t really a villain before, but it’s in his blood. His parents are supervillains with powers. They may want revenge and set out to kill Ivy for hurting their son. And if Ivy and Harley end up harming them, it could be the last straw.
Season 3 could end up having a new and improved Kite Man. One with armaments on his… kite armor. Anyway, Kite Man may not be the goofy and sometimes useless character we’ve seen. He could be their next enemy… or he could be a clumsy villain as well. That’s the beauty of this show!
