Ruby Rose approves

We all know fandoms can be messy sometimes, especially when it gets down to certain fans playing favorites and pitting those favorites against each other. The same could have been the case for Batwoman. No matter who The CW got to replace Ruby Rose, fans were going to have a hard time warming up to the new actress gliding over rooftops (no matter how good the option looks on paper) because they’d be upset that their losing Rose.

However, fans not ready to give up Ruby Rose just yet should fret not, as even Rose herself was over the moon to hear of Javicia Leslie’s casting, giving the new arrival her seal of approval.

“OMG!! This is amazing!! I am so glad Batwoman will be played by an amazing Black woman,” Rose expressed on her Instagram page shortly after the announcement. “I want to congratulate Javicia Leslie on taking over the bat cape. You are walking into an amazing cast and crew.  I can’t wait to watch season 2 you are going to be amazing!”

It’s nice to see the actress expressing congratulations and offering up a sign of approval on her replacement. For some of the fans to accept a new Batwoman, it felt like this was a totally necessary step and we could not be more glad that Rose was as thrilled about the announcement as we all are.

Now that the torch has been officially passed down to Javicia Leslie, fans can walk into Batwoman season 2 ready for an entirely fresh start.
