The Batman’s Matt Reeves and his production company jump ship to WBTV
The Batman director, writer and producer Matt Reeves has moved his 6th and Idaho production label to Warner Bros. Television.
The filmmaker behind the last two entries in the Planet of the Apes franchise and the upcoming The Batman has moved his deal from the Disney-owned 20th Century Fox Television over to Warner Bros. Television. The Hollywood Reporter made this exclusive announcement.
6th and Idaho – named after the streets in Santa Monica where Matt Reeves grew up – is a production company owned by the director, screenwriter and producer. Reeves has a host of TV credits to his name that include Felicity, The Passage, Tales from the Loop and the upcoming sci-fi drama Netflix series starring Hilary Swank Away. However, his future TV productions will now be exclusive to Warner Bros. TV.
That said, while the Robert Pattinson-starring film The Batman is being produced for Warner Bros.’ film studio, Reeves has a multi-year film deal with streaming giant Netflix.

Reeves, clearly seeking to extend his working relationship with Warner Bros., will be joining the TV production arm of the entertainment company. The multi-year contract with Warner Bros. TV allows him to develop new TV programming for the studio under various platforms – including their streaming service they just launched: HBO Max.
Also joining the six-person staffed 6th and Idaho team is Daniel Pipski as Executive Vice President and Head of Television. Congratulating Reeves, Pipski stated:
"“Matt has been making some of my favorite movies and TV shows since I was addicted to Felicity, and it’s a thrill to get to be part of his great team alongside Rafi and Adam, building up his TV company with our partners at WBTV.”"
Reeves’ 6th and Idaho isn’t the only major company to find a new home under the Warner umbrella as of late as his Felicity co-creator, J.J. Abrams, recently signed a five-year exclusivity deal with WarnerMedia last year worth $250 million. It saw the Bad Robot production company he founded along with his wife, Katie McGrath (also co-CEO), move all of its film, TV, digital and gaming divisions under one roof.
