5. Joker the bartender/Joker in love

Episode: “A Fight Worth Fighting For

After Joker fell in season 1, we knew he’d be back. What we didn’t know was that he’d return the way he did: As a bare-back and later a bartender who couldn’t (and wouldn’t) hurt a fly. That was shocking. It gets more comical, though. He fell in love and became a family man.

When Harley gave him his memory back, we all assumed that he’d go back to being the uncaring monster we’ve always known. Part of that was true. Joker was still a psychopath, but he still loved Bethany and her kids. It was surprising, yet sweet.

Joker had a hard time admitting that he loved the life he had. He hated the part where he was, quote, “Wearing khaki shorts, a Hawaiian shirt, and a cell phone clip attached to my belt!” Nonetheless, he loved everything else about that life.

In the end, Joker went back to Bethany. When Harley asked if he would stop being who he was, Joker made terrifying point. He said that there were plenty of family men who are killers. In the next episode, they really hit the point home. While Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy were fighting on the lawn, Joker ignored it and asked Bethany what they were going to have for dinner.
