Dwayne Johnson’s Shazam! sequel, Black Adam, gained an interesting addition to the cast in the form of Noah Centineo. Here’s who he’ll be playing…

Noah Centineo has been on an absolute tear across the movie world for the past couple of years. As Netflix’s resident poster boy, the rising star has been streamed in films like To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before and Sierra Burgess is a Loser.  Now, he is on the course to takeover Hollywood and he picked the right starting place: the DC Extended Universe, right next to Tinseltown’s highest paid actor.

For those who may not know or remember, DC currently has a Shazam! spinoff sequel in development alongside Shazam! 2, starring The People’s Champion, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, in the title role as Black Adam – Shazam/Captain Marvel’s archenemy in the comics. Now, Johnson may have found his own archrival to his anti-hero in the form of Mr. Centineo.

Per a report from The Hollywood Reporter, Centineo has joined the cast to play Atom Smasher. Atom Smasher is a DC supervillain known primarily for his super strength and ability to shapeshift in size. Although the character has existed in the comics for over 35 years now, he is still relatively new to the liv- action format.

Atom Smasher only just made his onscreen debut only five years ago during the second season of CW’s The Flash, then played by Adam “Edge” Copeland, another former wrestler. Now, we can look forward to Centineo smelling what The Rock is cooking when they square off on the big screen. Hopefully, not in a wrestling ring.

As of now, Black Adam is slotted for a Dec. 21, 2021 release date. We will have to wait until just over a year from now before we get to see if Dwayne Johnson Rock Bottoms Noah Centineo all the way back to Netflix. Or maybe Atom Smasher will bring the fight to the Great One!
