The Falcon and The Winter Soldier’s release date has been moved
Disney Plus’ Marvel Cinematic Universe series The Falcon and The Winter Soldier will no longer be arriving this summer…
When it comes to the most hotly-anticipated new shows of the year, it goes without saying that one of the most looked-forward-to offerings is Disney Plus‘ The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.
Set within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the Disney Plus series follows the adventures of the two titular heroes as they attempt to carry on the legacy of their best friend Captain America/Steve Rogers in a post-Avengers: Endgame world where he no longer exists. Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan reprise their respective MCU roles as Sam Wilson/Falcon and Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier as the former eventually finds his way to becoming the next Captain America.
It was originally expected to hit the streamer in August of this year, but after much uncertainty, it has now been confirmed that this will no longer be happening. Disney Plus unveiled its August premiere slate and, unsurprisingly, the MCU show is not listed.
When will The Falcon and The Winter Soldier premiere?
TVLine revealed that the premiere date has been shifted because of the delays caused by the outbreak of the novel coronavirus. The show’s production was taking place in Prague at the time and, much like we saw with almost every other major film and TV production in the world, it had to be shut down amid the concerns.
As production has not yet resumed – though it does seem like it could happen sooner rather than later – it’s hard to tell when The Falcon and The Winter Soldier will drop. Moreover, it’s also unknown as to how this could affect fellow MCU shows as WandaVision was expected to arrive in December while Loki was penciled in for 2021.
