Rumor: Catwoman to headline Batman spin-off series at HBO Max
According to a new rumor, we could see Zoë Kravitz’s Catwoman reprise her The Batman role as Selina Kyle in a spin-off series at HBO Max.
With The CW, Epix, DC Universe and now HBO Max producing DC Comics content, it’s safe to say that it’s a great time to be a DC fan. We have shows based on heroes, villains and everything in between and now, according to a new rumor, we may be about to see a new TV series revolving around Catwoman.
As reported by The Cinema Spot, HBO Max is reportedly developing a Catwoman series that will serve as a spin-off of Matt Reeves’ The Batman. As a result, Zoë Kravitz is rumored to reprise her role as the femme fatale feline and her alter-ego Selina Kyle.
Kravitz, who is set to bring Catwoman to life in the film next year, is also the star of Hulu’s High Fidelity series – which was unfortunately cancelled earlier this week.
The Batman’s world grows with Catwoman?
If this rumor is indeed true, that would make this planned Catwoman series the second HBO Max property inspired by The Batman.

Just a number of weeks ago, it was revealed that the new streaming service had greenlit a separate spin-off to the Robert Pattinson-led film that would focus on the film’s iteration of the Gotham City Police Department (in the vein of Gotham Central). Fans subsequently speculated that it might see Jeffrey Wright reprise his role as Commissioner James Gordon.
While it’s unknown yet whether this possible Catwoman spin-off would be a prequel or sequel, it would seemingly allow the world of The Batman to grow even larger, exploring supporting characters in a way that a single film would rarely get the chance to do. Who knows: Maybe it could bridge the gap between the first and second installments of the planned trilogy.
This is still very much a rumor at this stage, but wouldn’t it be great to see Kravitz bring the role to life on the small screen as well?!
