Legends of Tomorrow season 6: Premiere, release date, cast, trailer and more
With season 5 behind it, we’re all looking forward to Legends of Tomorrow season 6. Here’s everything we know about it so far.
DC’s Legends of Tomorrow season 6 is on the horizon. It’s a while off yet, but it’s still something we can all look forward to. The Arrowverse show’s fifth season recently concluded and all of us have now turned our attention to the sixth.
Season 5 was undoubtedly a memorable adventure for the Arrowverse’s outcasts and misfits as the Legends battled the Fates in order to restore history, reality and the timeline and stop their enemies from using the Loom of Fate for their own gain.
Below, you’ll find all the up-to-date information you need about Legends of Tomorrow season 6, its premiere on The CW, its cast, trailers and more.
Legends of Tomorrow season 6 premiere date
DC’s Legends of Tomorrow would usually return to The CW in the fall, accompanied by all of its Arrowverse counterparts. Though season 5 didn’t arrive until January 2020, it looks like we’ll unfortunately have to wait even longer than that for season 6.
The outbreak of the novel coronavirus has made it hard for many TV productions to resume filming. That said, even when the cast and crew return to production, it will be a while before the show hits screens.
The CW recently unveiled its schedule for January 2021 and Legends isn’t there, meaning that we should expect it in spring 2021 at the earliest.
Legends of Tomorrow season 6 cast
Legends of Tomorrow wouldn’t be the awesome adventure that it is without its wonderful cast of characters. Thankfully, most of those faces will be returning to the series for its next season.
That means we should expect to see Caity Lotz, Tala Ashe, Jes Macallan, Nick Zano, Dominic Purcell and Matt Ryan all reprise their roles as Sara Lance/White Canary, Zari Tarazi, Ava Sharpe, Nate Heywood, Mick Rory/Heatwave and John Constantine respectively. It was also recently revealed that Olivia Swann will be remaining on as Astra Logue in season 6 as well while Shayan Sobhian has been promoted to a series regular as Behrad Tarazi.
Unfortunately, there will be some departures as Brandon Routh, Courtney Ford and Maisie Richardson-Sellers all left their roles of Ray Palmer, Nora Darhk and Charlie last season.
A new Legend is also expected to join the regular cast this season.
Legends of Tomorrow season 6 trailer
The cast and crew of Legends of Tomorrow haven’t been able to return to Vancouver yet to begin production on the sixth season of the show. As a result, it will be quite a while before the first trailer for the season is released.
In previous years, Warner Bros. and The CW would unveil the trailer for Legends during its San Diego Comic-Con panel – an event that didn’t go ahead in its usual capacity this year because of the pandemic. While there could always be some little tidbits announced at DC Fandome, there won’t be any new trailers (or at least ones featuring new footage) because no new scenes have been filmed.
What is Legends of Tomorrow season 6 about?
Not an awful lot is known about Legends of Tomorrow‘s sixth season right now. Naturally, it’s safe to assume that it will deal with the shocking cliffhanger seen in the previous season as Sara Lance found herself abducted by aliens (for the second time!).
Unlike most TV shows earlier this year, Legends was able to wrap its full 15-episode run of season 5 because filming had been completed before production was shut down following the concerns over the novel coronavirus, so it’ll waste little time picking up from where it left off.
Executive producer Phil Klemmer confirmed that aliens will play a major role in the season and that the crew are going to use this opportunity to get very creative – especially when it comes to making all different kinds of aliens.
Check out DC’s Legends of Tomorrow season 6 official synopsis here:
"After one of their own is abducted by a ruthless alien, this new mission becomes personal. It will take more than the combined powers of a dark magician, John Constantine; a semi-reformed arsonist, Mick Rory; historian who transforms into steel, Nate Heywood; and a brother-sister wind-totem-wielding duo, Zara Tarazi and Behrad Tarazi to save the world for a sixth time. They must recruit a new Legend, a woman who was abducted by aliens when she was a child and supposedly imbued with powers that will help the team defeat their intergalactic foes. Either that or she’s just crazy…"
