Warner Bros. Games Montreal unveiled the first trailer for Gotham Knights at DC Fandome – an offshoot of the Batman Arkham game series.

The Batman: Arkham game series captivated fans throughout the course of the previous decade as they played Rocksteady’s Batman: Arkham Asylum, Arkham City and Arkham Knight. WB Games however crafted their own spin-off prequel to the franchise named Batman: Arkham Origins and, after a lot of anticipation, they have now revealed the next game in their series.

At DC FanDome, as fans anticipated Rocksteady’s Suicide Squad vs. The Justice League panel, they were treated to a special reveal from WB Games Montreal – who confirmed that their next game was Gotham Knights.

Set in a world in which Bruce Wayne has presumably died and Batman has destroyed the cave, the game allows players to play as Nightwing, Robin, Batgirl and Red Hood as the Bat-Family seeks to protect Gotham City in The Dark Knight’s absence.

In a panel hosted exclusively by Shazam!‘s Zachary Levi, WB Games made the announcement through the unveiling of the game’s first trailer – which you can watch below:

Throughout the game, the heroes will look to carry on Batman’s legacy as they come face-to-face with the Court of Owls and Mr. Freeze.

During the aforementioned panel, they also unveiled the first official gameplay of the highly-anticipated game, which saw Batgirl and Robin traverse the streets of Gotham City as they tried to prevent Mr. Freeze from sending it back to the ice age.

The graphics are equally as impressive as the previous game and the gameplay looks great thus far. And it’s safe to say that fans are very excited as the prospect of the new offering.
