Arcade

Arcade is a perfect villain for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He can be funny, his Murder World death games are creative, and he’s very devious.

Despite not being an A-list villain, he’s incredibly smart. He’s a creator who could have been on the level of Tony Stark. Unfortunately, his need to be wanted, loved, and famous stifled his growth as an inventor. And this is a guy who’s created an entire island of death traps.

He may not be an X-Man villain like The Hellfire Club or the Brotherhood, but he’s been a thorn in mutants’ sides more than a few times.

This is where Shia LaBeouf’s portrayal of Sam Witwicky comes into play. Some people might read this and scoff at the idea. Just give this writer a chance to explain. You hate Sam Witwicky in Transformers? Good. Arcade is supposed to be hated.

Arcade has a lot of the same energy he directs towards killing people for money. Not bad guys – anyone who can pay his fee will get his services. Arcade doesn’t have outward insecurity. He’s actually confident in his skill, but still wants everyone to love him. Now, picture Sam Witwicky in a white suit, polkadot bowtie, and being obnoxious. I bet you can see it now.
