DC FanDome was a huge hit for Warner Bros. and here’s why
Last weekend’s DC FanDome event was a massive hit for DC Comics fans to the point that it drew huge numbers of views.
It was an event that served as an experiment since there was no San Diego Comic-Con due to the novel coronavirus. DC FanDome was a larger than life event that saw upcoming DC Comics films and some of the television shows (more on that in a moment) come together to promote what’s coming next.
Variety has released the number of views for that 24 hour period and they are HUGE! Thanks to the likes of the Wonder Woman 1984 and The Batman panels, DC FanDome garnered over 22 million views. These digits are also thanks to the video game trailers and the new trailer for Zack Snyder’s cut of Justice League for HBO Max.
According to the aforementioned Variety article, Warner Bros. TV reported that DC FanDome amassed 22 million views across a total of 220 countries and territories. It has also been revealed that that the trailers for Wonder Woman 1984, The Batman, and the Snyder Cut of Justice League garnered a massive 150 million views since the event.

While we cannot get enough of DC FanDome, we only have two weeks to wait until the television panels. We got a taste from The Flash and Titans panels as they were the only DCTV staples to keep their spots on the August 22 date. The event was split in two due to feedback from fans who deemed 24 hours too short for all the media to be shown in that time.
We understand this completely as there are so many great panels that would be missed otherwise.
If you missed The Flash and the Titans panels don’t worry because the September 12 event will have extended versions of what was shown on August 22. There will also be other DCTV panels including Stargirl, Legends of Tomorrow, the upcoming Superman & Lois, Black Lightning and Doom Patrol. Supergirl will not have a panel.
There will also be Q&A sessions for the Harley Quinn series where Harley herself answers fan questions, though it is unclear if it will be the same panel as the August 22 event just uncensored. Finally, there will also be one highlighting the upcoming DC animated and interactive film Batman: Death in the Family.
We want to congratulate DC Entertainment and Warner Brothers TV for the stellar job they did for DC FanDome and we cannot wait for the September event.
