The Flash producer Barbara Muschietti revealed that more DC characters will join The Scarlet Speedster and the multiple variations of Batman that will appear in the film.

The Flash was always one of the more intriguing possibilities for a DCEU film. It’s spent a long time in uncertainty as it shifted from one producer to another, but now things are beginning to get rolling on it and fans are excited for what’s to come.

While the show already had a mini DC FanDome panel during the first day of the event, it also featured another short secondary Fan Q&A panel during the second day. During that Q&A, producer Barbara Muschietti was asked what we can all expect from the upcoming film and she responded by revealing that the film is a “ride” that will be “fun and exciting”.

However, she also revealed that there will be “a lot of DC characters in it”. Of course, that might not sound like news given that we’re talking about a DC Comics movie adaptation here, but because it’s this movie, that could mean so much more.

More from DCEU

Fans will undoubtedly already know that Michael Keaton will be starring in the film as his Batman from the 1989 film while it was also announced that the DCEU’s Dark Knight, Ben Affleck, will be making a return to the role for an appearance in the film. Both Batman iterations are expected to have “substantial” roles.

With that in mind, Muschietti’s comments definitely seem to confirm fan suspicions that the film’s Flashpoint-like approach will see Barry Allen venture to alternate earths or timelines and come across a multitude of DC characters. The question is: Who will be joining the two Batman characters and cross paths with Ezra Miller’s Flash?

The Flash is directed by Andy Muschietti and it hits theaters on June 3, 2022.
