Marvel Studios has tapped a quartet of directors for Disney Plus’ Ms. Marvel series.

Kamala Khan seems to be stepping into the limelight more and more. Following her appearance on Marvel’s Avengers videogame from Square Enix, the much-loved Muslim superhero will be landing in the MCU quite soon in a Disney Plus original series.

From a report by The Hollywood Reporter, it has now been revealed that Marvel has put together a team of directors for the upcoming show, including filmmaking duo Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah – known for taking on the task of reviving the buddy cop franchise Bad Boys by helming its latest entry Bad Boys For Life.

Also joining the pair is two-time Oscar winner Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy and Farah Goes Bang director Meera Manon – whose small-screen credits include Titans, The Walking Dead, Outlander and Dirty John.

Created by editors Sana Amanat and Stephen Wacker, writer G. Willow Wilson and artists Adrian Alphona and Jamie McKelvie, the New Jersey-based Pakistani-American teen became the first Muslim character ever to have her own title. A fan of Carol Danvers (aka Captain Marvel), she discovered she is an Inhuman and goes on to become a hero in her own right.

The first volume was met with widespread acclaim. Since 2018, Ms. Marvel has sold half a million trade paperbacks, which is almost platinum status by today’s standards.

Marvel has made steps to transition her into various TV adaptations as she has appeared in several animated series such as Avengers Assemble and Marvel’s Spider-Man. Now, of course, there is the Disney Plus series helmed by Bisha K. Ali. And it seems that things are finally moving forward for the show.
