Thor’s Chris Hemsworth, Birds of Prey’s Jurnee Smollett and Fantastic Four’s Miles Teller will unite in Netflix’s Spiderhead.

Superheroes from various universes collide when Marvel heavyweight Chris Hemsworth – who plays Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe – Jurnee Smollett – who plays Black Canary in the DC Extended Universe – and Miles Teller – who played Mr. Fantastic in the critically-panned Fantastic Four – will all unite in a brand new Netflix movie.

As revealed by Deadline, the three stars will lead Spiderhead. A live-action adaptation of the George Saunders short story, the film is set in the future when convicted criminals get an opportunity to shorten their sentences by volunteering as medical subjects.

Spiderhead will be directed by Joseph Kosinski. The director is currently working on Top Gun: Maverick and will set his sights on the Netflix original next.

Thor, Black Canary and Mister Fantastic – a heroic team up

A heavyweight of Hollywood, Hemsworth has brought the God of Thunder to life in Thor, its sequels Thor: The Dark World and Thor: Ragnarok and will reprise the role in 2022’s Thor: Love and Thunder. He also played prominent roles in MCU entries The AvengersAvengers: Age of UltronAvengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. He’s also no stranger to Netflix, having recently starred in the well-received action flick Extraction.

More from Movies

Smollet made her DCEU debut in Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)  as Dinah Laurel Lance/Black Canary. She was praised by fans and critics, with many hoping that she reprises the role in the future. She also currently stars in Lovecraft Country and is receiving critical acclaim for her performance.

Teller portrayed Mister Fantastic/Reed Richards in the 2015 Fantastic Four reboot that is now regarded as one of the worst superhero movies ever made. Though his performance was great, the reception and the box office failure resulted in the planned sequel getting cancelled. And now, the rights have reverted back to Marvel, meaning that the characters will soon be rebooted in the MCU.

These three actors are all fantastic performers, so we can’t wait to see them share the screen in Spiderhead.
