Legends of Tomorrow season 6 has finally promoted this longtime recurring fan-favorite character to series regular.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow season 6 is expected to start filming at some point this month and the long-running Arrowverse series is also expected to return to screens early next year – potentially spring time. However, when the show does make its long-awaited comeback, it will be bringing a familiar face along with it – this time, in a more permanent capacity.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Adam Tsekhman – who plays Gary Green – has been promoted to series regular for the show’s upcoming sixth season. Moreover, the show will finally give us a glimpse into why the oft-cartoonish character is so, well, cartoonish as this season will explore his very own origin story.

Gary’s long-awaited promotion in Legends of Tomorrow season 6

Tsekhman joined the show back in season 3 as Gary, who was the subservient but devoted employee of the Time Bureau and did whatever it took to make Director Ava Sharpe (Jes Macallan) proud.

More from Arrowverse

Throughout the course of the show, he has been involved in a number of the Legends’ most ridiculous capers and even though he isn’t technically a Legend, he’s practically become part of the Waverider furniture.

Things will change for him going forward, however, as season 6 will see Gary officially join the Legends.

As fans of the show will know, this is something he’s been longing to do for a very long time – especially since his former boss Ava joined the team.

In the upcoming season, we’ll also discover that he wasn’t always the lovable goofball that we know him as and the Legends will ultimately have to come to grips with some of the weird stuff they learn about John Constantine’s current magic assistant.

Season 6 will also deal with Sara Lance’s disappearance at the hands of the aliens.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will return to The CW in January 2021.
