MCU: Here’s when we’re getting our first look at Spider-Man 3
Fans are excited for the arrival of the MCU’s Spider-Man 3 and here’s when they can expect the first official look at Tom Holland’s return.
There are a lot of superhero movies on the horizon and one of the most sought-after is the upcoming Spider-Man 3 (working title). The third Spidey feature in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the long-awaited film was supposed to begin production in July of this year but that was understandably delayed because of the outbreak of the novel coronavirus. Production has now kicked off and it’s left fans wondering when we could see a glimpse of the movie.
Turns out they may not have to wait that long. As pointed out by ComicBook.com, Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures’ marketing schedule for both Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home, indicate that we may be seeing our first look at the third movie sooner rather than later.
When is the first trailer for Spider-Man 3 released?
The trailers for both previous Spider-Man movies were released in December 2016 and December 2018 respectively – both of which did great jobs of exciting audiences for the upcoming Spidey installments each time. And there’s a strong possibility that this year could continue that trend.
Back in October, a Sony marketing executive revealed that fans could expect their first look at Spider-Man 3 before the end of the year. Now, given the franchise’s history with December, it’s easy to see why this news is incredibly exciting.

In other MCU news, December will also bring with it the arrival of WandaVision as the Disney Plus series will mark 2020’s only installment from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Black Widow and Eternals were supposed to grace the big screen but unfortunately they had to be postponed until next year because of the ongoing pandemic.
Spider-Man 3 is expected to hit theaters on December 17, 2021. Tom Holland, Zendaya, Marisa Tomei, Jon Favreau and Jacob Batalon will all return, while Doctor Strange‘s Benedict Cumberbatch will reprise his MCU role as Stephen Strange himself and Jamie Foxx will also appear, reprising his role as Electro from 2014’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
