James Gunn’s Suicide Squad spin-off Peacemaker will now feature a host of major stars along with a familiar Arrowverse villain.

The Suicide Squad is undoubtedly one of 2021’s most anticipated movies, but the colorful James Gunn DCEU flick will only mark the beginning of the story for John Cena’s Peacemaker. As revealed a number of months back, the character will headline his own HBO Max TV series, with Gunn writing all eight episodes and directing the first (as well as a number of others).

Having a WWE veteran like John Cena in the lead role is already an alluring prospect, as is the witty content Gunn is known for producing, but Peacemaker just got even more exciting because it has now added a horde of new cast members to its line-up, including Terminator 2: Judgment Day legend Robert Patrick, Orange is the New Black‘s Danielle Brooks and Brightburn‘s Jennifer Holland – who reprises her role from The Suicide Squad movie.

However, perhaps the most intriguing new addition is that of Chris Conrad as Adrian Chase/Vigilante.

How will Vigilante return to screens in Peacemaker?

Vigilante is a long-standing DC Comics antihero known for, well, being a vigilante. Some might remember him from his two-season stint on Arrow when two versions of him appeared (SPOILER ALERT for anyone who hasn’t watched Arrow). By that, we mean that both Vigilante and Adrian Chase debuted in the show’s fifth season but, unlike their comic book counterpart, they weren’t one in the same. Chase (portrayed by Josh Segarra) ended up being the season’s villain as Prometheus.

Undoubtedly one of DC’s most underrated characters, fans were disappointed in the way that Arrow ultimately handled the Vigilante persona (though they did a magnificent job with Chase as Prometheus), so it’s safe to say that we’re all excited to see him return in Peacemaker.
