The Boys: How would each character fare in the Marvel or DC Comics universes?
By Mark Lynch
Frenchie
The Boys‘ version of Frenchie isn’t anything like he is in the comics. He isn’t an insane former French soldier. He’s a former arms dealer and thief. He was phenomenal at his job too. He had a plan for almost any superhero who would attempt to capture him. For example, he used xanax on a superhero who’s powered by rage.
As much as we may like him in The Boys, Frenchie would be a villain in Marvel or DC Comics. It isn’t just the theft, he also runs guns and does drugs heavy. These are things that the heroes of both universes would not be able to let go. He’d probably end up working for Wilson Fisk. Frenchie is competent (unlike Turk) and not fueled by bloodlust (looking at you, Bullseye). He eventually found something honorable to live for by helping Kimiko. But without her or The Boys, he may remain the same person.
Frenchie would probably end up fighting Frank Castle. This is not a fight that Punisher may be able to win. Punisher hasn’t battled many people with the same kind of skill, patience, and creativity as Frenchie. He isn’t his your average drug dealer, nor is he someone who relies on their powers. Their rivalry could be legendary.
