Thanksgiving: What these comic book characters are thankful for
By Mark Lynch
Harley Quinn for Poison Ivy
TV series: Harley Quinn
Harley Quinn was on her way to spending a lifetime with The Joker until Poison Ivy had seen enough. She showed Harley who he truly was: A jerk who didn’t care about her. After she dumped Joker, Harley created her own crew, saved Gotham, and became her own woman. Along the way, Harley and Poison Ivy fell in love with each other.
A mutually beneficial relationship, Ivy came to terms with her true feelings and Harley became a better person. They could still be thought of as villains, but at least they aren’t as bad as Joker. It’ll be great to see where their relationship takes them in season 3 of Harley Quinn.
T’Challa for Okoye
Comic book: Black Panther And The Agents Of Wakanda
Even T’Challa needs help. Not only can he not be everywhere at once, he needs people he can rely on. The one person he seems to trust more than anyone is Okoye. When he needs a job done, he sends her. When the Agents of Wakanda needed a leader, he went to her. Watching her balance all of those different personalities is amazing.
Okoye has been a crucial part of his operation in both the comic books and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She’s an invaluable part of the Wakandan military. Without her, things would be more difficult than they needed to be. T’Challa would be overwhelmed trying to do everything on his own. He should thank her every day.
