Emily VanCamp, who plays Sharon Carter in the MCU, has opened up about when fans can expect The Falcon and The Winter Soldier to arrive on Disney Plus.

With 2021 on the horizon, TV fans are looking ahead to some of the anticipated shows that await us in the coming year. At the top of that list is undoubtedly Disney Plus series The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.

Set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the upcoming show features Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan reprising their roles from the movies as Sam Wilson/Falcon and Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier. Not much else is known about it as of yet, but it is clear that it will focus on Sam’s attempts to follow in the footsteps of friend Steve Rogers by becoming the next Captain America.

It was originally supposed to arrive on the streaming service in August but because of production delays caused by the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, that wasn’t able to happen. We know it will now hit screens in 2021, but in regards to when, that hasn’t been quite clear. And you can bet fans are eager to find out.

When is The Falcon and The Winter Soldier released?

Emily VanCamp has some answers for them, as the star – who reprises her role as Sharon Carter – teased when fans might be able to expect its arrival. During an Instagram live interview with PJ Stock (H/T: The Direct for the transcription), the actress confirmed that she doesn’t “think they have a release date yet” because they had to “come back and finish [filming] after lockdown” adding:

"“They’re done filming, so they’re probably almost done editing at this point. Hopefully, beginning of the year. And, “The Resident” is starting up in January as well, so there might be a lot of me… come January.”"

Fellow Disney Plus Marvel show WandaVision debuts on the streamer in January and it only runs for six episodes, so chances are that we could see The Falcon and The Winter Soldier pop up early spring between February and April. That is, of course, speculation but it does seem like we’ll be getting the show sooner rather than later in 2021.
