Riverdale performed well in the FanSided 250 of 2020.

Good news for Riverdale fans! The show’s fandom has ranked high in FanSided 250‘s best TV fandoms.

On the list – which celebrates the best 250 fandoms in the world – the show came in at No. 206 overall and an impressive No. 19 in TV.

Why Riverdale performed so well in the FanSided 250

It’s really not all that surprising that Riverdale performed well in the FanSided 250. The show has one of the most passionate fanbases of modern day TV. It reaches a large audience in the U.S. when it broadcasts weekly on The CW (one of the “big five” TV networks) but has amassed a global following through Netflix.

More from TV

The show has been popular among teenagers and young adults since its debut in 2017, with passionate fans celebrating the show’s thrilling premise and quirky characters online.

One thing that also sticks out to fans is the endearing relationships between the show’s core couples – which have gained passionate fanbases over the years, with plenty of love being shown for “Bughead” (Betty Cooper and Jughead Jones), “Varchie” (Veronica Lodge and Archie Andrews), “Choni” (Cheryl Blossom and Toni Topaz), “Falice” (F.P. Jones and Alice Cooper) and the relatively recent pairing of “Kangs” (Kevin Keller and Fangs Fogarty).

It didn’t perform quite as well as it did last year – as the show landed at No. 65 overall and No. 6 in TV – but that’s understandable because of the fact that it spent most of 2020 off screens because of everything happening in the world. In fact, it’s a testament to its popularity that it still made the list.

Riverdale season 5 premieres on The CW on Wednesday, January 20, at 8:00 p.m. ET. Watch the trailer here.
