Spider-Man 3: Even more huge Marvel stars have joined the cast of the MCU film
It appears that both former Spider-Man actors Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield have joined the cast of the Tom Holland-led Spider-Man 3.
It sounds like we could possibly be getting our very own live-action Spider-Verse in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as both Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield could be about to reprise their roles as past incarnations of Peter Parker/Spider-Man, joining Tom Holland in the Jon Watts-directed Spider-Man 3.
This comes after it was confirmed that Alfred Molina would be reprising his role as Doctor Otto Octavius aka Doctor Octopus from Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 2. The following day, it was also speculated that Charlie Cox would be reprising his role as Matt Murdock/Daredevil from Netflix’s Daredevil series.
Are Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield in Spider-Man 3?
According to Collider, Sony and Marvel are attempting to close a deal with Maguire while Garfield is already onboard. The former portrayed the wall-crawler in Raimi’s original Spider-Man trilogy between 2002 and 2007 while Garfield then succeeded him in playing the titular character in Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man series in 2012 and 2014.
Emma Stone will also reportedly make her return as Gwen Stacy from The Amazing Spider-Man saga while Kirsten Dunst is also expected to reprise her role as Mary Jane Watson from Raimi’s trilogy.

Also among the cast, Benedict Cumberbatch is reprising his role as Doctor Strange in a mentorship capacity and Jamie Foxx has been confirmed to be joining the cast as Electro – a role he will be reprising from The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
The Spider-Man: Far From Home sequel primarily stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Marisa Tomei, Jacob Batalon, Tony Revolori and Benedict Cumberbatch but that cast could grow significantly with all the appearances seemingly lined-up. Jon Watts is directing from a screenplay by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.
Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal are producing for Marvel Studios in association with Pascal Pictures. Sony Pictures Releasing is set to distribute. Spider-Man 3 will swing into theaters next year on Dec. 17, 2021.
