2. Black Manta

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is undeniably magnetic as the infamous nemesis of Jason Mamoa’s Aquaman, and every second of his aces performance on the big screen solidifies the fact that he was the perfect choice to play Black Manta. The DC Villain is a skilled mercenary motivated by vengeance and heavily armed with augmented Atlantean technology, making him someone who could easily be a menace to Batman, Wonder Woman, and even Superman himself. He exhibits a next-level intellect and has survived several encounters with the godlike citizens of Atlantis, making him a top-notch player in the realm of DCEU evildoers.

1. General Zod

General Zod could have easily been a Thanos-caliber villain in the DCEU had he not been snapped out of existence in Man of Steel only to be turned into some poorly retconned version of Doomsday. Before he went out, Michael Shannon’s drop-dead fantastic take on the Kryptonian warlord is the stuff of legends. It almost comes off like he is supposed to be a villain in a Christopher Nolan movie instead of a popcorn film. He was basically Superman with decades more experience and an entire ancestry of Krypton’s finest warriors. Let’s not forget there is a reason that its people destroyed Krypton as opposed to the world-conquering Darkseid, and it most-assuredly is because of the might of the great General Zod, allowing him to eclipse the competition when ranking the major villains of the DCEU.
